Tuesday 2-17-09: A walking tour

After our clinics in the morning, Britton and I went on a walking tour (using our travel book) of the old town, El Centro Histórico. While walking around this area of town, there are great views of the Virgin on top of the hill.

We went out on the terrace of a museum and had beautiful views of the square in front of the Presidential Palace.

At the south end on Parque La Alameda stands the Simón Bolívar Monument, the man receiving the most credit for initiating the revolution against Spain and determining the independence of several South American countries including Ecuador.
We also went to a supermarket and took a picture of the eggs, totally unrefrigerated just as they are in all homes in South America. Are we paranoid in the U.S.?
