
In the later afternoon, we arrived in Quilotoa, over 1200 ft higher than Quito and you can already see why people come to this remote spot: the colapsed volcano with a lake inside is GORGEOUS! The weather was not too beautiful so we headed to our spartan lodge.

Just outside was a beautiful parrot, the lodge pet I guess. We sat inside, played cards and drank Ecuadorean beer, Pilsner, until a set family style dinner was served.

Afterwards we retired to our COLD rooms to get some sleep. It was 49 degrees in our room according to our travel clock so I was glad that I had Britton.
