3rd Week in Quito cont...

Here are a few pictures around town:

Bom K-fé, our frequent lunch spot is about 10 blocks downhill from our house (we live on the western slopes in a bario called La Granda Centeno).

La Avenida America is the road at the bottom of our hill. It runs north/south like all major roads here as Quito is a long skinny city nestled in a valley high up in the Andes.

This is actually a typical sidewalk here. Let´s just say that going for a walk is challenging, especially since you often have to walk up and down the slopes on a sidewalk like this.

This is our local mini market, about 4 houses down on our street. They sell beverages, eggs, cheese, fresh bread, dried plantains, and a handfull of other things. Here we are known as the gringos who buy 5L bottles of water about 3 times a week.
