Greetings from Taiwan and DC

Last weekend, my cousin Kerri visited us for the weekend after a business trip to Tampa. I love that people are visiting us just because Tampa is a popular business and vacation destination! Come on down!

Also my brother and Shu-Fen came to visit with my mom and .... our new nephew, Connor!!! Connor is 7 months old and just as cute as can be! He is such a happy baby and entertained us with lots of funny faces and general baby amusement. Britton and I got a new camera (a combined birthday and Christmas present for both of us) and I enjoyed playing with it this weekend. I'd like to say that I'm a skilled photographer but I had an amazing subject to work with!

Todd, Shu-Fen and Connor will be in Jupiter until some time in early September and will be visiting us again in Tampa as we get closer to providing Connor with a cousin!

Shelley's visit and resident graduation

Shortly after my trip to Atlanta, one of my Atlanta friends came down to Tampa/
Clearwater for a business trip. I got to see Shelley again and this time by the pool and beach. Fun!

June 18th was graduation night for the 4th year residents. We had a great meal, great views (the top of the Bank of America building) and graet company. Just think, 3 more years and we will be celebrating Britton's graduation!

This is the last group picture of the intern class before they move on to be 2nd years: Patrick, Karen, Kristin, Margaux, and Britton.

Attempting to blog the truth.

It seems like a lot has happen since my last entry...

We received isolated but strong negative feedback about the name that we chose. We've spent the last couple of weeks feeling shocked and hurt and it has deflated our excitement and hopes for our little boy as we came to know him: Chance. Eventually, I was able to separate the name from the baby and we powered through our plans in setting up the nursery. Whether we will build new excitement for the name or choose a new name is still somewhat up in the air and when we do decide... I think we'll keep it to ourselves! ;-) We do appreciate all the support that we've gotten from family and friends and I'm sure you'll continue to support us whatever we decide.

June 4th: We celebrated my 30th birthday, 30 weeks pregnant by going to the hospital on Friday night for a 3D ultrasound. Contrary to popular belief, we do not ultrasound our son every week! But since we have open access to it, yes, he's had a few more ultrasounds than the average bean.

June 6th: We went over to my grandparents house and saw my cousin Eric and his family: Cathy, Natalie, and Julia, who were visiting from Texas. Julia was just an infant at our wedding. Now here we are 2 1/4 years later and she's a beautiful active child and I'm pregnant. How time marches on!

We've spent the last two weeks moving our guest room into our office and creating a nursery. Britton single-handedly assembled the crib and the dresser/changing station and I've been mostly directing the events and doing laundry, organizing, etc. We aren't quite ready to post pictures on the nursery...soon. We really appreciate everyone's gifts and we are loving the monkey and sailboat theme!

I'm still feeling pretty good although I have finally given up running and have resigned myself to power walking. I experience contractions daily as my uterus is preparing for the big event! The baby is kicking and doing flips and providing entertainment for his mommy- and daddy-to-be. I'm still working full time (they have not found anyone to replace me so far) and mostly feel like a "normal" person with swollen feet and a few pains and discomforts. I can't complain.
