On Friday, Britton and I walked all over Quito, picking up a few last minute souvenirs and buying thank you cards for Marta and Yolanda and Rene. One last peek at the Virgin. We had lunch downtown and eventually made our way back home. One final (merienda) dinner with Yolanda and Rene. Unfortunately Rene was sick and went to bed early. Britton and I packed, deciding which things we would leave behind: some medications that are cheaper in the U.S. than Ecuador, clothes, hospital scrubs, towels, lotions, sunscreen, tissues - all things that were more appreciated in Quito than we would appreciate at home.
