Friday morning we got up early, checked out of out hotel and drove 3 hours northeast to LaPaz

Waterfall Gardens and checked into their beautiful resort called Peace Lodge. The rooms were amazing with private balconies with a jacuzzi and another jacuzzi with a waterfall in the bathroom. Both jacuzzis and the shower were made of stone, with stone knobs and dark woods everywhere. The bathroom smelled of whichever aroma therapy scent we chose and a collection of CD's was waiting to set the mood for the day. We had a beautiful gas fireplace with a cozy sitting area in front of it. Humming birds fought over the feeder on our balcony as we watched from the hammock. It really was a peaceful, relaxing, romantic and beautiful place!
We went on a walk down to the five waterfalls on the property navigating through several trails and hundreds of steps (boy, were our calves sore the next day!). We crossed over hanging

bridges and felt the spray of the waterfalls. The property is over 70 acres of forest, flowers, waterfalls, butterflies, hummingbirds, trails, bridges, pools, lakes, and animal rescue centers that were beautiful sanctuaries for inured animals.
We spent the afternoon exploring, filling the air with our "oooos" and "ahhhhs" as we encountered beautiful flowers and waterfalls.
Later, we had dinner

at the Peace Lodge restaurant. The nearest town was about 30 minutes away and makes Paxville, SC seem like a huge city so staying at the lodge for meals was really our only option. Well, that turned out not to be a problem because the food and the atmosphere and everything about the lodge's restaurant was absolutely lovely! We felt so spoiled and we were loving every minute of it! We enjoyed a complimentary bottle of wine from the lodge in honor of our honeymoon, it was so special!
