Life happens

On Friday, I was offered a full time position doing the job that I am currently filling as a PRN therapist. This is pretty much the perfect job for me for many reasons: I get to do as much women's health as I want to, I see a variety of other types of patients, it's challenging, I really like the people I work with including my boss, it's all outpatient, no weekends or holidays...etc. However, I had to turn the job down because they did not offer me enough, not nearly enough. I had a feeling this would happen because Tampa General is notorious for paying their full-time staff poorly. My current boss and I are both bummed because she understands that the offer is low and she does not have the power to change it. They may come back to me later with a better offer, they may not, but I know I made the right decision. Luckily, Britton and I are on the same page, as usual. It was still very frustrating. Britton and I went out on Friday night and I had an O'Douls...not the same.

For now, I'll continue to cover that position at my same PRN rate until they find someone to fill it permanently.

We did not let that ruin our weekend. We had a nice day at the beach on Saturday and I even sported a bikini for a little while. Today we went furniture shopping, picked out two counter height chairs, and painted our kitchen slate blue. Love it!
