Last Friday, Britton and I went to look around at Babies R Us (weird!). We started a registry but we are new at this... adding what we really need/want and making final decisions will probably take a few more weeks.
Then, after struggling to make decisions for BB Crigler, we decided that we wanted to look at him in 3D again. Okay, so these are the perks of being an ob/gyn's wife: we can take a peek at our baby anytime we want! So, off to triage at Tampa General (after a quick stop at Sonny's BBQ ;-) ). This time, our son (!) looked much cuter with a bit more baby fat.At my 19 week ultrasound, his estimated weight was 11 oz. Two and a half weeks later, his estimated weight is 1 lb 4 oz. He went from ~11oz to 20 oz in just over 2 weeks?! Is this why I've been so hungry? Yes, definitely, let's blame it on him.
Meanwhile, Britton is continuing his nesting phase. He installed lighting under our kitchen cabinets on Saturday morning. Then we went to home depot, lowes, and a tile store to figure out how we would tile our kitchen backsplash. We took a quick course in tile work at home depot and got some quotes on tile, prepared to do this project ourselves. We spent all Saturday evening planning it out and even made a huge layout plan. When I came home from work on Sunday, Britton asked me what I thought about skipping the tile and just painting the backsplash!!! I said I thought it was a great idea!!! LOL!!!
This week BB Crigler received his very first gift! My friend gave us a cute onsie which reveals the baby's name!.... well we don't want him to be too full of himself so we will have to think of a different name but I'm pretty confident that he is going to be adorable. ;-)As far as the pregnancy goes, I'm feeling good but I'm suffering from insomnia these past three weeks now. It's very frustrating being awake for hours for no reason!
And with my job, the position that I'm currently filling has officially been posted and I applied this week. I seem to be a shoo-in for this position: my boss loves me, I fit in well with the team, and I have a rare specialization in women's health, which they need. But negotiations may be complicated and I'll feel better when it's all settled.
That boy looks just like Britton! He is definitely the father. See you guys real soon.
ReplyDeleteWell, I knew that Britton was definitely the father even before seeing the resemblance! ;-) Yeah, we want to see your handy work (no pressure, hehe) so maybe we can come out to your place on the Wednesday, Thursday or Friday that we'll be in town.
